AT&T and Research In Motion (RIM) announced the introduction of the BlackBerry Curve. Fujitsu launches four new hard disk drives for enterprise and entry server applications.
These include three new enterprise class SAS drives designed to support mission critical server and storage systems.
The first hard disk drive in this series, the MBB2147/MBB2073, Fujitsu’s second generation SFF 10K SAS drive, offers up to 1471GB capacity at a rotational speed of 10,000RPM. This drive also has a load/unload head ramp that helps to reduce handling damage.
The next hard disk drive in this new lineup is the MBC2073/MBC2036, a 2.5″ enterprise SAS drive with 15,000PRM rotational speed offering up to 73GB(1) capacity. This drive also targets mission critical server and storage system applications.
The third enterprise class hard disk drive of the new portfolio is the MBA3300/MBA3147/MBA3073 drives, with capacity up to 300GB at rotational speed of 15,000RPM. These drives include a 16MB buffer size for SAS and 4Gbps fibre channel interface drives, and are targeted toward mission critical applications and systems where high performance and high capacity
is required.
In addition to its enterprise lineup, Fujitsu has introduced the MHW2120BK series 2.5″ SATA hard disk drives that will offer up to 120GB capacity to enable 24/7 operation for a variety of applications, including blade server, telecommunications, surveillance, industrial PC, and robotic
applications. Key features and enhancements include 24/7 operation, built-in functions to minimize the adverse effects of rotational vibration and a 3.0Gb/sec transfer rate. Offering 7200RPM speed ensures the highest possible performance available with 2.5″ SATA drives today.
