This marks the sixth state where Verizon, the company building the nation’s most advanced digital all-fiber-optic network, is now providing this unprecedented speed.
Florida joined Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York and Rhode Island as states where Verizon has increased the maximum connection speed of both its mid-tier and top-tier FiOS Internet services. Verizon is the first and only major communications and entertainment provider to be certified by the independent Fiber to the Home Council as providing customers with 100 percent fiber-optic service.

Recently, the GSA – Global Mobile supplier Association has published the survey on HSPDA devices. As per survey 196 HSDPA-enabled devices launched in the market comprising 86 handsets, 39 PC datacards and modules (including 3 supporting HSUPA), 34 notebooks, 14 USB modems (including 1 supporting HSUPA), 1 dual-interface ExpressCard/34 & USB modem, 19 wireless routers, 2 Personal Media Players, and 1 digital camera. 10 devices support 7.2 Mbps peak in the downlink (HSDPA). Support for all 3G spectrum bands is strong, not only for the widely-deployed 2100 MHz frequency band, but also for 850 MHz as used in Australia and the Americas, and 1900 MHz which is also available in the Americas. The survey confirms over 50 HSDPA devices which operate in the 850 MHz band, typically together with 1900 MHz, and support for tri-band 850/1900/2100 MHz WCDMA-HSDPA operation is becoming increasingly common.
