These systems with open source OS are in a result of customer feedback at IdeaStorm according to which customers are interested in open source Linux on new machines.
Ubuntu is a community developed Linux based operating system ans is known as one of the most popular open source OS.

hmm…. Looks like all the Microsoft’s competitors are establishing and getting more strengthen with open source community. This time look at Mozilla’s Thunderbird 2 email application which is claimed to be more powerful than ever and now even easier to organize and secure.
The good thing is that Thunderbird 2.0 is a free download available for Windows, Mac, or Linux operating systems in over 35 languages. The key features include: Advanced folder views, message tagging, message history navigation, improved search, saved searches, stay informed, phishing protection, privacy, cutting out the junk, message templates, Add-ons Manager for Extensions and Themes.
The Thunderbird 2.0 released almost 14 months after the release of Thunderbird 1.5 and still there is no calendar feature. Mozilla’s Sunbird offers a separate calendar application.

The F-Secure detected another Skype worm, it spreads by sending a message with a malware link to all online friends in Skype’s contact list using the Skype API.
Before sending the message, it sets the infected Skype user’s status to DND (Do Not Disturb). After clicking the link, it is redirected and malware file is downloaded. After this it will show you a picture of a lightly dressed woman. The link also directs users to some Web sites with information about Africa.
