The computer mouse is a 40 years old invention. Since then lots of things have changed. The new trends and recent developments in 3D software have tested the limits of basic design of traditional mouse. Specially, zooming and moving the mouse at the same time.
MagicMouse, a three-dimensional computer mouse designed by a team of five WPI undergraduates seems to be a true 3D mouse. By moving the index finger and moving the hand close or away from the screen the user can move the cursor and zoom-in and zoom-out at the same moment. This makes the mouse work easily in 3 dimensions and could also make the game play more realistic and interactive.
The 3D mouse also wins one of 10 Invention Awards from Popular Science.
